Madeleine overcame abandonment and sickness to become a beloved pet. She was found motherless in a shed, along with her siblings, in Mt Isa. She loved exploring my painting set ups, and it felt natural to me to paint her with my home-grown pumpkins. Through fostering, she was able to recover at her own pace, and has gone on to become what is affectionately known as a "foster fail" because we ended up adopting her. On the screen, there is a glimpse of the Create session I did with The Inspired Collective, I streamed my painting process live and completed a good chunk of this painting. I enjoyed keeping this painting a bit more impressionistic. It's all painted from life, except for Madeleine, as she's way to quick for that.
I love blending traditional still life themes along with modern things like PC monitor. I love having technology peeking in as a way to set my paintings in their specific time period and as a part of the narrative of the stories I am telling.
